The Oncology Nursing Society and the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation seek to promote
excellence, not only in oncology nursing and quality cancer care, but also in the educational
opportunities provided. It is essential that the integrity of the course and the post-test be maintained. The validity and reliability of the provider card and certificate of added qualification are dependent on each individual demonstrating their knowledge independent of assistance from others. The sharing of items breaches the security of the post-tests and necessitates development of additional new test items. This results in increased costs for this learning activity.
The Educational Integrity Statement is included in the course content. ONS and ONCC are committed to educational integrity and take violations of the integrity statement seriously. It is our desire to make employers aware of the policy as you begin to distribute registration vouchers, so that you may enforce the statement within your institution. Nurses are required to take the post-test independently and are forbidden from copying and sharing post-test items in any format, including verbally. Your staff receive this information within their course. Please know, ONS and ONCC will act promptly when made aware of violations of educational integrity and reserve the right to deny or revoke NCPD, the certificate of added qualification and the provider card. The intent is not to police but to ensure the standard of excellence that ONS and ONCC strive to maintain and that you have come to expect.
